MOVIE: My Neighbour Totoro

ALL WELCOME!  This movie is suitable for everyone!  Two sisters Satsuki and Mei move to the countryside, and experience an absolutely magical adventure after meeting the Totoro - forest spirits.  But Mum is sick in hospital and missed by her girls. Their friendship with the Totoros saves the day!

ENTRY: Gold coin donation please!  To cover catering costs.  Please bring a gold coin, per person, on the day. 

BOOKING: Please book your tickets (FREE) on this web site so that we have a good idea of numbers and can cater accordingly.

SNACKS: Popcorn and ice cream will be provided during the movie.  

LUNCH:  In the the theme of the movie - fresh veggies from Grannie’s garden!  Many thanks to our wonderful Parents!  To Denis doing BBQ corn, to Kotesh making Macha (green tea) cookies, to Shanny bringing fresh vegies, to Lisa bringing Gyoza!  And of course to Eleanor who will make a wonderful chocolate Totoro birthday cake!

ASSISTANCE PLEASE: If you are able to assist on the day by making popcorn early, cutting veggies and cleaning up afterwards, this would be much appreciated.

BIRTHDAY CAKE:

Our birthday cake will be cut at approximately 1:00pm.  Happy birthday to all of us for 10 years of Aikido Japanese kids classes!

BRING: Pillows & blanket if you would like to.

START TIME: 10:15 for 10:30am SHARP start.  Please arrive early so you have plenty of time to get settled.  

RUN TIME: The movie runs for 1 hour 40 minutes.  Including ‘interval’ for ice cream, the movie will finish by 12:30.  Allow another hour to enjoy a relaxing and healthy lunch snack!  And birthday cake!

LANGUAGE:  Totoro will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles.  If your child can’t read, no problem, the movie is self-explanatory, particularly given that they will already know the story from class.
